In Preface (2016-2026), we present our (non-winning) submission to the architectural competition initiated by the The Association for the Promotion and Exhibition of the Arts in Lebanon (APPEAL), to design the Beirut Museum of Art (BeMA).
In 2016, a winning proposal by architect Hala Wardé was selected by a jury that included Lord Peter Palumbo, Rem Koolhaas, Lord Richard Rogers, among others.
In 2018, Wardé was dismissed and architect Amal Andraous, who came in second in the competition, was hired.
Should Andraous also be dismissed, we may well have a chance to build our hole-in-the-ground-tunneling museum.
